Welcome to the Chelsea Area Historical Society! This is the principal organization for research and education about the interesting history and heritage of Chelsea, Michigan and the surrounding townships of Sylvan, Lima, Lyndon, and Sharon.

Oak Grove Walking Tour
The Chelsea Area Historical Society has published a self-guided walking tour of the Oak Grove Cemetery. You can pick up the booklet at the CAHS museum or at other area establishments.

New Leadership elected
At the annual meeting of the CAHS, the membership elected George Till as president, Kathy Clark as Museum Director, Cynthia Furlong-Reynolds as vice president, Cary Church as treasurer, and Russell Jones as secretary.

Next Meeting
Our next meeting is Feburary 13, 2012, at the Chelsea Depot at 7:00pm. Our meetings are free and open to the public.

CAHS Museum is open Saturdays from 11am - 3:00pm, at 20650 W. Old US-12, the house next to Thompson's Pizzeria. Come experience the history of Chelsea. Current exhibits include a limited time only display of Glazier Stove Co. stoves, artifacts from Chelsea Fairs of the past, rare photos, and patents along with Chelsea advertising, pioneer history, exquisite china, and much more! Admission is a suggested donation.

CAHS

Chelsea is a city rich in history and CAHS is proud to be a vital part of maintaining and sharing our community's history to current generations and those to come. The CAHS is the caretaker of many rich artifacts from Chelsea's past.
