Since November 2010, the Chelsea Area Historical Society Museum has been located in the Archie Wilkinson? Home at 20650 W. Old US-12 (next to Thompson Pizzeria). Our regular hours are Saturdays, 11:00am-3:00pm. We had a gala opening on June 12, 2011.

The facility has allowed us to:

  • Create dynamic historical displays documenting Chelsea’s early pioneer history, its industrial past, and our community’s early and more recent influential citizens;
  • Provide historical education programs to members and the public;
  • Expand archival and genealogical records keeping and sharing;
  • Provide a consistent meeting place for its members.

Through the generosity of Lynda Collins, we have had this site for two years. But it is time to move again.

Though excited with the opportunity to display Chelsea's rich history and educate our community residents and visitors, CAHS continues to be dedicated to raising funds to purchase a permanent building site for the organization's offices and historical museum. With a permanent Home for Our Heritage, CAHS will be able to guarantee a lasting legacy of local history preservation and education.

You can help with showing CAHS your support by joining our membership,visiting the Historical Museum, attending CAHS sponsored events, and/or by making a monetary gift. CAHS is Michigan non-profit 501(c)3 organization, and your gift is tax deductible.

Thank you for your support of CAHS and for helping the Chelsea community find a Home for Our Heritage it deserves!
