Welcome to the Chelsea Area Historical Society! This is the principal organization for research and education about the interesting history and heritage of Chelsea, Michigan and the surrounding townships of Sylvan, Lima, Lyndon, and Sharon.
Chelsea is a city rich in history and CAHS is proud to be a vital part of maintaining and sharing our community's history to current generations and those to come (see "History of CAHS"). The CAHS is the caretaker of many rich artifacts from Chelsea's past. We also offer public history lectures throughout the year that are open to the public, as well as offer special events and fund raisers. Check out the upcoming events to see what is happening.
Our next meeting is March 10, 2014. Janet Ogle-Mater will present "Katharine Dexter McCormick: A Champion of Women’s Rights." See the attached flyer for the program – please consider passing it along and/or printing a copy and hanging it in a favorite store/restaurant in the area. And then mark your own calendar! Meet at 7:00pm at the Depot.
